Gee, is it really one and a half year since we played this re-interpretation of that Danish childrens song in the hunting lodge? I still think it was kinda magical, as the sunbeam exactly illuminated us and no one else. I must have been natures own concert lightning. It was damn cold though, we my as well have been playing outside in the snow. The acoustics were great in that cabin, and the atmosphere was electric. Off course I'm kinda biased, after all it was my son we were celebrating.

Last week I received this little package from Hong Kong:

Interested in what was inside?! Well, I was, but off course I had some ideas. To be honest I knew it was a 3D lens for my Nikon DSLR. More specific it was a Loreo 3d Lens in a cap.

With his new hat on my Nikon looked like this:

Ok, lots of snow has been descended slowly the last couple of days here in Nopenhagen, so there was no better opportunity than to go out an play with the beast. Here's the result:

Tunes in this video is a tiny audio doodle i did in ableton live using the operator synth and the suppatrigga plugin.

To view it in 3D you either have to...

Use your super power eye skills and cross eye technique. I simply cannot do this, but you might be more batmanish than me...

Go fetch a pair of 3D glasses that can be used with side-by-side 3D images. I use the Loreo 3D pixi viewer, and it works like a charm on the computer screen. As a side note the CD album cover of the Tool album 10,000 days can also be used.

Ok, to be honest the quality of the pictures and movies is not even close to the images and movies taken with the Nikon lense. But hey, the 3D lense is rather cheap AND the 3D effect is amazing.

What has all this to do with atlastop?! Yes, yeah and yearh: Soon we atlastop will do a live recording with stereoscopic 3D video footage and binaural sound!!!

Atlastop just played our first gig as a 3-piece this weekend (Haukur had to pop out for a bit, something about a great job/girlfriend/apartment in Island, who cares). Played a gig with a full set list and there were even people in the audience we didn't already know! Wild

Twas pretty laid back. One person was even lying flat on the ground. Couldn't quite make out whether she was sleeping or enjoying the concert. Not sure I wanted to find out.

Bunker acoustics managed to completely mess up the recordings I did. That's my excuse anyway.

So I'm quietly surfing the net one friday evening (yes yes... I know!) in darkest january. When my ole pal from EFC Bjarke de Koning logs in on messenger. Turns out he really likes the mymusik tribute song I wrote called 'ThiSong' and wants to do a quick music video, in between making his documentary film Painting Love

I'm a bit adverse to music videos, because they mostly all suck (especially all those clever flash animated ones by indie bands!) and the media itself has contributed no small part to music becoming a lifestyle accessory.

This I try to explain, while Bjarke tries to get me along on the idea. He even trots over to my place in order to brainstorm ideas, despite the lateness of the evening. The man has energy!

While bouncing ideas around, at one point I say "Well, that's just kind of embarassing and awkward! If we want to do something embarassing and awkward, we should make it REALLY embarassing and awkward by just filming me walking the round streets with my guitar, playing to random people!!".

"That's great!!" comes the reply.... a little voice in my heard screams 'crap'. I spend the next hour trying to wriggle my way out of this. Until Bjarke says "If this is really something you're afraid to do,... then that is the best reason to do it". An arguement from the same family tree as; 'i double dare you!'. But it's perfectly true. So what we did was
